How many Lumens do you need in each room?

When striving for a comfortable and cozy home, the right amount of lighting is key. A crucial factor in choosing the right lighting for each room is the number of lumens. In this blog you can read exactly how many lumens you need per room to create the perfect ambiance anywhere in the house.

What is Lumen?

To determine the best amount of lumen for each room, you must first understand what lumen means. Lumen (lm) measures the amount of visible light output by a light source and therefore indicates brightness. The higher the lumen value, the brighter the light. Lumens measure the amount of visible light that a light source puts out and therefore are very important for creating the right ambiance and functionality in different rooms. What is connected to lumens, and just as important to the ambiance in the home, is the amount of lux (lx). Lux measures the brightness of lighting on a specific surface. Lux represents, the actual brightness of light in a specific location. One lux is equal to one lumen per square meter, (lx = lm/ m2).
