A Sporting Connection: Electro Cirkel (CALEX) and Action at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon

Every year, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon delivers impressive athletic performances, and this year was no exception. Thanks to the annual sponsorship from Electro Cirkel and Calex to Action, a number of lucky participants were once again able to secure their entry tickets. Among them were hundreds of enthusiastic Action employees and suppliers who collectively took on the challenge and crossed the finish line in the iconic Olympic Stadium.
A Sporting Connection: Electro Cirkel (CALEX) and Action at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon
Every year, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon delivers impressive athletic performances, and this year was no exception. Thanks to the annual sponsorship from Electro Cirkel and Calex to Action, a number of lucky participants were once again able to secure their entry tickets. Among them were hundreds of enthusiastic Action employees and suppliers who collectively took on the challenge and crossed the finish line in the iconic Olympic Stadium.
This year, our colleagues Marijn and Rick also took on the challenge. Both chose the half marathon, an exciting athletic challenge. Marijn, being more experienced, took it a step further by adding the 8 km race to his schedule.
As in previous years, they were not just running for themselves but also for a good cause. The proceeds from their athletic achievements went to the Cancer Center Amsterdam (CCA), the oncology research center at the Amsterdam UMC. For each participant, Action donated €50 to the CCA. Thanks to the joint efforts of all the sponsoring parties, an impressive amount of €250,000,- was raised this year. A fantastic sum we are proud to be a part of, and it is an honor to contribute so meaningfully to the fight against cancer.
For our colleague Rick, this was his very first half marathon.
"This year, I became more and more passionate about running, when I saw Action's invitation, I immediately knew: I have to do this! It was a great motivator for me to take running more seriously and have a specific athletic goal to work towards. And how wonderful it is that, with this goal, I could also contribute to such an important cause as the Cancer Center Amsterdam. I set myself an ambitious goal: to complete the half marathon within two hours. With a finishing time of 1:47, I am more than satisfied with the result. The support from the crowd and the fantastic atmosphere of the event really helped me push through, allowing me to set some personal records! Now, I'm looking forward to the full marathon in my own city, Rotterdam!"
For Marijn, this was his fourth time participating in the TCS Amsterdam Marathon on behalf of Electro Cirkel (CALEX) and Action.
"I participate every year because it's a fantastic event. What I love most is the sense of solidarity you feel before, during, and after the run. Everyone runs with their own goal, whether it's chasing a personal record, supporting a charity, or running in memory of someone. It's so much more than just a run around the city."
