Luuk is 12 years old, but is certainly not your average teenager. As a karting talent, he recently received an offer from overseas and therefore will be found more in the United States than in his home country the Netherlands the upcoming season.

Luuk is 12 years old, but is certainly not your average teenager. As a karting talent, he recently received an offer from overseas and therefore will be found more in the United States than in his home country the Netherlands the upcoming season.
"Every kart driver dreams of driving in Formula 1 one day, but there are only twenty seats. That's not a lot. The Indy Car Series and NASCAR are also a big dream of mine." - Luuk Taal (12)
Calex has been sponsoring Luuk since he was 8 years old to help him chase his dream. A dream that is certainly not unattainable! Especially now that Luuk has received a serious offer from the United States. Next year he will be driving for the French Sodikart factory team, the team of former F1 driver Nelson Piquet Junior. An amazing opportunity to take his racing career to the next level!
Calex is of course very proud on what Luuk has accomplished over the last couple of years. He is a huge go-getter, talent alone will not get you there. In addition to racing on the track, Luuk spends hours in the simulator, exercising to maintain his fitness and also doing homework in between. It takes a lot of discipline to keep this up. Regular education is therefore no longer feasible now that he will be abroad a lot. Fortunately, his current school fully supports him in his career. However, next school year Luuk will switch to online education.
